For those who do not know what NLEX means, it is North Luzon Expressway, also known as the “Gateway to the North”. It connects Metro Manila to all the provinces in the Northern area of the Philippines.
We’ve all heard about the famous cobblestone streets of Vigan, the white sandy beaches of Pagudpod, and the stairways to heaven of Banaue, but there is more of Northern Luzon that has yet to be discovered. In an effort to help strengthen tourism in the Northern Philippines, the Manila North Tollways Corporation (MNTC), builder and concessionaire of NLEX, organized their seventh “NLEX: Tara Na Sa Norte Tourism and Travel Fair” at the Glorietta Activity Center last July 25-27, 2014.
Being the only travel agency invited to the fair, Rajah Travel did not miss the opportunity to promote and encourage tourism for Northern Luzon. It was the first time Rajah Travel has taken part in an exclusive event such as this.
Mr. Rodrigo E. Franco, MNTC President and CEO was there to extend his warmest thanks to everyone who came to support their efforts to showcase what the provinces of the north have to offer. The “NLEX Tara Na Sa Norte Tourism and Travel Fair” was also graced by top tourism personalities such as keynote speaker and vice chair of tourism, Senator Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara; DOT Assistant Secretary Arturo “Art” Boncato Jr., and President and CEO of the Clark International Airport Corporation Victor Jose I. Luciano. Chairman of the tourism and cultural committee of the Makati city council Maria Conception Yabut; Senior Marketing Manager of the MNTC, Grace Ayento, as well as several DOT regional directors from the North were also in attendance.
Over the span of the three-day fair, many people dropped by to check out the selection of booths, including Rajah Travel’s who highlighted unique Filipino travel packages.
It was indeed, a huge success!
